Damyean Da'Kethe Dotson (born May 6, 1994) is an American professionalbasketball player who last played forPetkim Spor of the TurkishBasketball Super League (BSL). Dotson previously has played for theCleveland Cavaliers andNew York Knicks in theNational Basketball Association. He played college basketball forOregon andHouston before being selected with the 44th pick of the2017 NBA draft by the Knicks.
He played two seasons for theUniversity of Oregon. After his sophomore season, he and teammatesDominic Artis and Brandon Austin were dismissed due to sexual assault allegations. No one was ever charged due to a lack of evidence and conflicting statements made by the victim.[1] He subsequently enrolled atHouston Community College where he did not play basketball but tookanger management courses withJohn Lucas II.[2]
He transferred to theUniversity of Houston. As a senior, he averaged 17.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game and was named to the First TeamAmerican Athletic Conference.[3]

On August 7, 2017, Dotson signed with the Knicks[4] and during his rookie season, he received multiple assignments to theWestchester Knicks of theNBA G League.[5] On November 29, Dotson became the eleventh player in history to play in the G League and NBA in the same day.[6] On April 6, 2018, Dotson scored a career-high 30 points and a career high 11 rebounds in a 122–98 win off the bench against theMiami Heat.[7]
On November 25, 2020, Dotson signed with theCleveland Cavaliers.[8] On September 10, 2021, Dotson was waived by the Cavaliers.[9]
On October 14, 2021, Dotson was signed by theSan Antonio Spurs.[10] However, he was waived two days later[11] and joined their G League affiliate, theAustin Spurs on October 27.[12] In 12 games, he averaged 12.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 34.9 minutes per game.[13]
On December 21, 2021, Dotson was signed by theNew York Knicks. Dotson was signed on a ten-day deal, via New York's 'hardship' exception.[13][14] He signed a second ten-day contract with the Knicks on December 31.[15]
On January 11, 2022, Dotson was reacquired by theAustin Spurs.[16]
On June 23, 2022, Dotson signed withGaziantep Basketbol of theBasketball Super League.[17]
On September 17, 2023, Dotson signed with theNingbo Rockets of theChinese Basketball Association.[18]
On September 20, 2024, Dotson signed withNanjing Monkey Kings. He is the second foreign player on the roster asT. J. Leaf signed to the team earlier.[19]
On November 18, 2024, he signed withPetkim Spor of the TurkishBasketball Super League (BSL).[20]
