TheDaily Camera is anewspaper inBoulder,Colorado,United States. It is owned byPrairie Mountain Publishing, a division ofDigital First Media which is controlled byAlden Global Capital.[1][2]
Frederick P. Johnson and Bert Bell founded the weeklyBoulder Camera in 1890,[3] and it became a daily in 1891. Ownership has changed over the years. The paper has been owned by Ridder (1969–1974),Knight Ridder (1974–1997), Scripps (1997–2009) andMediaNews Group (2009–present).[4] In 2013MediaNews Group andDigital First Media merged under the Digital First Media name. Alden Global Capital controls Digital First Media.[2]
The official name of this newspaper at various times has been theBoulder Camera, theBoulder Daily Camera, theDaily Camera, theCamera, and most recently theDaily Camera once again. All of these are still in common usage as nicknames for the paper.
