TheDaily Commercial was founded in 1875. It was later acquired by members of theCowles family in 1969.[2]The New York Times Company acquired the paper in 1971 and sold it in 1995 to Better Built.[3][4] HarborPoint Media acquired the Better Built papers in 2004, and owned theDaily Commercial until 2013, when it was acquired byHalifax Media Group.[5][6] In 2015, Halifax was acquired byNew Media Investment Group.[7]
