Dai Suzuki (鈴木大,Suzuki Dai) is a retiredJapaneseprofessional wrestler. He gained prominence inDDT Pro Wrestling andPro Wrestling Freedoms.[3]
Suzuki debuted at a Ryukyu Dragon Pro Wrestlinghouse show on December 1, 2013, as Superman Taro, teaming with Churaumi Saver and Tida Heat in asix-man tag team match, losing to Fuma, Gurukun Mask, and Ryukyu-Dog Dingo.[4]
Suzuki achieved recognition inDDT Pro Wrestling. On September 5, 2015, atDDT agePa!! 2015 (エイジパ!! 2015), he won a 13-man reversebattle royal, defeatingAkito,Shunma Katsumata,Shigehiro Irie,Kazusada Higuchi,Makoto Oishi, and others.[5] On December 4, 2016, atDDT Osaka Octopus 2016 (DDT大阪オクトパス2016), he competed in a gauntlet battle royal for theIronman Heavymetalweight Championship, facingKazuki Hirata,Kikutaro,Mad Paulie,Masahiro Takanashi,Toru Owashi, and others.[6]
He participated in key DDT events, includingDDT Peter Pan. AtRyōgoku Peter Pan 2017 on August 20, he lost toGota Ihashi in aCasual Street Pro-Wrestling Extra Edition! match for theKing of Dark Championship.[7] In theDDT Judgement series, he debuted atJudgement 2016: DDT 19th Anniversary on March 21, teaming withDJ Nira to defeatSeiya Morohashi andHoshitango in atag team match for the King of Dark Championship, without winning the title.[8] His final match, atJudgement 2017: DDT 20th Anniversary on March 20, saw him,Nobuhiro Shimatani, andNaomi Yoshimura defeat Rekka,Daiki Shimomura, andYuki Ueno.[9]
On November 12, 2017,DDT Pro Wrestling announced onTwitter that Suzuki retired to pursue a social welfare career.[10] His retirement match atDDT DNA 39 (DNA39) on December 13, 2017, a three-on-one handicap match, ended in defeat againstKen Ohka,Ryota Nakatsu, andKota Umeda.[11]
Suzuki’s brother, Shin Suzuki, wrestles in Japan’sindependent scene.[12]
