Dahyabhai Shastri is an Indian scholar ofSanskrit and the founder ofBrahmarshi Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya,Nadiad.[1][2] He is also a former president of the Gujarat state unit of theVishwa Hindu Parishad.[3] Born in Vasai Dabhla, a small village inMehsana district of Gujarat and did his studies in Sanskrit inAhmedabad andVaranasi, Shastri chairs the Veda Centre,Pardi.[4] He is known for contributions in interpretingSanskrit grammar and literature and is a recipient of Gujarat State Award.[4] The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of thePadma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to Literature and education.[5]
