Dagetichthys is agenus ofsoles. They are found in salt and brackish water in the East Atlantic and Eastern Indian Ocean, butD. lakdoensis is restricted to fresh water in Cameroon.
Dagetichthys was previously amonotypic genus which contained justD. lakdoensis.Synaptura was considered an incorrect designation by theICZN and their species were added here.[1]
