Da-Tong, sometimes calledDaye (simplified Chinese:大冶话;traditional Chinese:大冶話) after its principal dialect, is one of theGan Chinese languages. It is spoken inDaye, in the southeastern part ofHubei province near theJiangxi border, as well as inXianning, Jiangyu, Puxin, Chongyang, Tongcheng,Tongshan, andYangxin in Hubei, as well as inHuarong and bordering areas of easternHunan.
The Daye variety will be taken as representative.
