DVD Talk is ahome video news and review website launched in 1999 byGeoffrey Kleinman.

History

[edit]

Kleinman founded the site in January 1999[2] inBeaverton, Oregon. Besides news and reviews, it features information on hidden DVD features known as"Easter eggs".[3] In 2000, posts to their forum ledAmazon.com to cease the practice ofdynamic pricing.[4][5][6] In 2007, the site was sold toInternet Brands.[7] As of January 2023,[update] the reviews and editorial blog have ceased updating. The higher-traffic bulletin board/forum remains operational and active.

Reception

[edit]

Shawn Levy ofThe Oregonian called it "worth a visit",[8] and Randy Salas of theStar Tribune recommended it as a source of information for DVDs.[9] It was used at one time by industry insiders to gauge interest in DVD titles.[10][11][12]
