DR-13 is a highway in theDominican Republic. It connectsSanto Domingo to the province ofMonte Plata andMonseñor Nouel. Its two lanes run mostly through metropolitanSanto Domingo and it connects theDistrito Nacional withSanto Domingo Norte andVilla Mella. DR-13 is the only highway in Santo Domingo that crossesGreater Santo Domingo in its entirety. It runs from the coast up to Villa Mella where the highway is then referred to asAvenida Maximo Gomez while inSDN it is known asAvenida Hermanas Mirabal.
Avenida Maximo Gomez starts in the Malecon (Av. George Washington), Santo Domingo's coastal waterfront, and continues north intersectingExpreso 27 de Febrero and thenExpreso John F Kennedy. These are the two most important transportation corridors of the city. It then exitscentral Santo Domingo and continues Northward across theDistrito Nacional until reaching theOzama River.
