InGreek mythology, the nameCydon (Ancient Greek: Κύδων) may refer to:

• Cydon ofCrete,eponym ofCydonia. According to one version, he was a son ofTegeates and possibly,Maera, daughter of theTitanAtlas. He was the brother ofLeimon,Schephrus,Gortys andArchedius: the three brothers were said to have migrated to Crete fromArcadia.^[1] Alternately, Cydon was a native of Crete, son ofAcacallis byHermes^[2] orApollo.^[3] He is probably the same as Cydon, the father ofEulimene.^[4] The town ofCydonia was named after him.^[5]
• Cydon ofThebes, name shared by three defenders of Thebes in the war of theSeven against Thebes:
  • One of the fifty warriors who laid an ambush againstTydeus and were killed by him.^[6]
  • Son ofAbas, was killed byParthenopaeus.^[7]
  • Another Theban, killed byHippomedon.^[8]
• Cydon ofLemnos, half-brother ofHypsipyle. Was slain byMyrmidone the night all Lemnian men were killed by their women.^[9]
• Cydon, an ally ofTurnus, lover ofClytius. Clytius fell in the battle againstAeneas.^[10]
• Cydon, one of the horses ofHippodamus.^[11]
