Curtis Booth (12 October 1891 – 29 October 1949), sometimes known asTommy Booth, was an English football player and manager. He played inthe Football League forNewcastle United,Norwich City andAccrington Stanley,[1] forLeeds City as a wartime guest and for Wallsend Elm Villa.[4] After retiring as a player, Booth managed Accrington Stanley,Wormatia Worms,RC Paris and coached in Germany, Turkey and the Netherlands.[5][6][2]

Personal life

Booth enlisted in theBritish Army in December 1915 to fight in theFirst World War.[2] He served as aprivate in theDurham Light Infantry and saw actionon the Somme and at theThird Ypres.[7] Booth was wounded in action atVillers-Bretonneux in August 1918 and wasdemobilized in August 1919.[2]
