Curt Clausen (born October 9, 1967) is an Americanrace walker. He placed 4th 50 km event in the 1999 IAAF World Championships in Athletics, but after 2 years was later awarded the 3rd place bronze medal, after the winner was stripped of his title for a doping violation.
As a prep, Clausen competed indistance running but also set thehigh school national record in themile walk of 6:18.32.[1][2] He attendedStevens Point Area Senior High School alongsideSuzy Favor Hamilton, where he at times trained over 100 miles per week.[3][4] Clausen committed toDuke University where he competed on theDuke Blue Devils track and field team despite racewalking not being an NCAA-sanctioned track and field event.[5][6]
He was elected president ofUSATF in 2024.[7]
