Cultural Anthropology is a quarterlypeer-reviewedacademic journal published by theAmerican Anthropological Association on behalf of theSociety for Cultural Anthropology. It was established in 1986 and covers emerging areas ofanthropology. In 2014, it becameopen access. Since 2022, it has been edited by a collective, composed of Matilde Córdoba Azcárate, Alberto Corsín Jiménez, Julia Elyachar, Joanne Nucho, AbdouMaliq Simone, Manuel Tironi, and Ather Zia.[1]
The journal is abstracted and indexed inCurrent Contents/Social & Behavioral Sciences,[2]Scopus,[3] and theSocial Sciences Citation Index.[2] According to theJournal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2013impact factor of 1.606.[4]
