Heir apparent to the King of Bahrain
Thecrown prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain (Arabic :ولي عهد مملكة البحرين ) is theheir apparent to theKing of Bahrain and officialheir presumptive to the King.
Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was sworn in asCrown Prince of theKingdom of Bahrain on 9 March 1999 and held the post ofcommander-in-chief of theBahrain Defence Force from 22 March 1999 to 6 January 2008.[citation needed
Present Line of succession [ edit ] The succession of theKingdom of Bahrain throne is determined byagnatic primogeniture amongst the male descendants of KingHamad bin Isa Al Khalifa . However, the rulingKing of Bahrain has the right to appoint any of his other sons as his successor according to article 1 of theConstitution of Bahrain .[ 1]
