TheCrooked River, officially designated as acreek,[2] is an open maturewave dominatedbarrier estuary[1] located in theIllawarra region ofNew South Wales,Australia.
Crooked River rises to the southeast ofPrinces Highway and theSouth Coast railway line, west southwest of Currys Mountain and southwest ofGerringong. The creek flows generally east southeast and south for about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) reaching itsmouth atGerroa, where the creek bordersSeven Mile Beach National Park and flows into theTasman Sea of theSouth Pacific Ocean.[2]
