Town in ancient Troad
For the town of ancient Thessaly, seeLarissa Cremaste. For the region of Turkey formerly called Cremaste, seeMustafakemalpaşa.

Cremaste orKremaste (Ancient Greek:Κρεμαστή) was a town inancient Troad.[1]Xenophon speaks of the town and the plain nearby "where there are the gold mines of theAbydeni."[2]Strabo mentions the gold mines ofAstyra which town is nearby. Gold mines belonging toLampsacus are mentioned byPliny the Elder[3] and byPolyaenus;[4] and they may be the same as those of Cremaste, as the town was generally between Abydus and Lampsacus.

Its site is located nearSarıbeyle,Asiatic Turkey.[1][5]
