Coyote Wells is anunincorporated community inImperial County, California.[1] It is located on theSan Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway 24 miles (39 km) west ofEl Centro,[2] at an elevation of 299 feet (91 m).[1]
There is a petrified forest in and around Yuha wash, about 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Coyote Wells.[3]
DuringWorld War II theUS Navy built two airstrips at Coyote Wells to supportNAS San Diego.[4]
