Paulo Alexandre Almeida Santos, better known by his stage nameCoyote Beatz or simplyCoyote, is a Brazilianhip hop producer,DJ, and member of theunderground hip hop groupDV tribo. Coyote is known for his work with Brazilian rapperDjonga, although he has worked with various artists, includingEmicida,Rashid [pt], Fenda, FBC, among others.[1][2]
In 2013, Coyote Beatz and Djonga worked together for the first time. Gradually, the Brazilian music producer began to gather recognition in theHip Hop scene with his diverse boom bap andtrap instrumentals. During this period, Coyote also presented his beats at local events inBelo Horizonte, mainly organized by theFamília de Rua collective at theDuelo de MCs. Some notable work from Coyote can be encountered in Djonga's albumHistórias da Minha Área.[3]
Coyote also producedEmicida's singlePapel, Caneta e Coração, which was well received inBrazil and aided the music producer in obtaining some initial notoriety.[4]
Recently, Coyote Beatz released the albumBE$T $ELLER OF DJONGA, which compiles the most well known instrumentals produced by the beatmaker that were utilized in Djonga's music.[5]
By using classic Rock andSamba references, Coyote Beatz also creates compositions influenced by experimental electronic music and obscure soundtracks.[6]
In 2018, Coyote won thePrêmio Genius Brasil de Música award for best producer.[7]
