Coryphas orKoryphas (Ancient Greek:Κορυφάς),[1] also known asCoryphantis orKoryphantis (Κορυφαντίς), was one of the settlements of theMytilenaeans, on the coast ofancient Aeolis, opposite toLesbos, and north ofAtarneus. It is evidently the same place which appears in theTabula Peutingeriana under the nameCorifanio, betweenAdramyttium and Elateia — which may be another name ofHeraclea.[2][3]Strabo mentions Coryphantis and Heraclea, and "after them,Attea."[4] The oysters of Coryphas are mentioned byPliny the Elder.[5]
Its site is located nearKeremköy,Asiatic Turkey.[2][6]
