TheConstitutional Court of Bulgaria (Bulgarian:Конституционен съд) is in charge of reviewing the constitutionality of acts and statutes brought before it, as well as the compliance of these laws with international treaties to which Bulgaria is a party. The 12 members of the Constitutional Court serve a nine-year term. Four of the justices are elected by theNational Assembly, four are appointed by thePresident, and the remaining four are selected from among the judges on theSupreme Court of Cassation and theSupreme Administrative Court.

  3. ^Parvanov died in 1992. Parliament elected Stanislav Dimitrov to finish the term.
  4. ^Grigorov resigned in 2000 to become chairman of theSupreme Cassation Court and was replaced by Penka Tomcheva.
  5. ^Stalev resigned in 2000 and was replaced by Zhivan Belchev.
  6. ^Danov died in 2003 and was replaced by Lazar Gruev. Gruev resigned to become chairman of theSupreme Cassation Court in 2007 and was replaced by Snezhana Nacheva
  7. ^Pavlova died in 2007 and was replaced by Georgi Petkanov
  8. ^Angusheva died in 2012 and was replaced by Keti Markova.
  9. ^abDue to thepolitical crisis, these seats were left vacant until early 2024.
