Conservative government, 1922–1924

Government of the United Kingdom
"Law ministry (United Kingdom)" redirects here. Not to be confused with theMinistry of Justice (United Kingdom).

Bonar Law led theBritish Government from 1922–1923 and was succeeded byStanley Baldwin.
Baldwin led the Government through 1924. He resigned afterlosing the confidence of the House of Commons.

TheConservative Government of theUnited Kingdom that began in 1922 and ended in 1924 consisted of two ministries: the Law ministry (from 1922 to 1923) and then thefirst Baldwin ministry (from 1923 onwards).

The government was led byBonar Law andStanley Baldwin, appointed respectively asPrime Minister by KingGeorge V.

  • August 1923 – Neville Chamberlain took over from Baldwin as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Sir William Joynson-Hicks succeeded Chamberlain as Minister of Health. Joynson-Hicks' successor as Financial Secretary to the Treasury was not in the Cabinet.
