Connor Shields (born 29 July 1997) is a Scottish professionalfootballer who plays as astriker. He has previously played forAlbion Rovers,Sunderland,Aldershot Town andQueen of the South andMotherwell. Shields has also had loan spells withAlloa Athletic,Billercay Town andQueen's Park.
Shields started his career atAlbion Rovers during the2015–16 season.[2]
In January 2018, Shields earned a move to England, signing forSunderland.[3][4] In August 2018, Shields was loaned toAlloa Athletic for six months.[5] Shields was released by Sunderland at the end of the2018–19 season and received interest and offers from a number of clubs.[6]
In June 2019, Shields signed forAldershot Town on a one-year deal.[7] In March 2020 he moved on loan toBillericay Town,[8] scoring on his debut.[9]
In August 2020, Shields signed forQueen of the South on a one-year deal.[10]
On 27 May 2021, Shields signed a three-year deal withScottish Premiership clubMotherwell.[11] He scored his first goal for the club on 20 November 2021, in a 2–0 home win againstHeart of Midlothian.[12]
On 31 January 2023, Shields joinedScottish Championship clubQueen's Park on loan until the end of the season.[13]
On 26 July 2023, Motherwell announced that Shields had left the club to joinIndian Super League clubChennaiyin FC.[14]
