Comal Independent School District is a publicschool district based inNew Braunfels,Texas (USA).^[1]

The district covers 589 square miles (1,530 km²) in five central Texas counties -Comal,Bexar,Hays,Kendall, andGuadalupe. Incorporated communities in the district includeBulverde,Garden Ridge, and portions ofNew Braunfels andSchertz. The unincorporated communities ofCanyon Lake,Fischer,Sattler, Startzville,Spring Branch, andTimberwood Park also lie within the district.

In 2009, the school district was rated "recognized" by theTexas Education Agency.^[2]

The first school in what would become the district is theChurch Hill School.
