Colleen Smith Clinkenbeard (born April 13, 1980)[3] is an Americanvoice actress,ADR director,line producer, andwriter. One of her major starts was as the English voice provider forRachel Moore in the long-running detective seriesCase Closed. She then later served as the Co-ADR director onFullmetal Alchemist, which aired onAdult Swim in 2004. She has since starred in many popular anime dubs, including asMonkey D. Luffy inOne Piece,Erza Scarlet inFairy Tail,Moka Akashiya inRosario + Vampire, Risa Aoyanagi inPsycho-Pass, Maria inBurst Angel,Son Gohan inDragon Ball Z Kai, and Momo Yaoyorozu inMy Hero Academia. She also voiced Kisara Nanjo inKenichi: The Mightiest Disciple.

As a stage actress inDallas, Clinkenbeard got involved in voice-over when fellow voice actressLaura Bailey brought her to Funimation for an audition.[4][5] Her first voice role was inDragon Ball GT;[6] her first lead role wasÉclair inKiddy Grade.[1][7] Midway through the Kiddy Grade series, directorJustin Cook appointed Clinkenbeard as the ADR director for the rest of the episodes. Her other major role early in her career wasRachel Moore in the detective anime showCase Closed. She would later direct along withMike McFarland onFullmetal Alchemist which came out in November 2004 on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block.[4][5]

Clinkenbeard went on to provide the voices ofMonkey D. Luffy inOne Piece,[8]Erza Scarlet inFairy Tail,Riza Hawkeye inFullmetal Alchemist andFullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,Moka Akashiya's inner personality inRosario + Vampire,Yuko Ichihara inxxxHolic,[9] and Elsie Crimson and Mother inEdens Zero.
Outside of anime dubs, she's also provided the voice of Lilith in theBorderlands video game series, while also voicing character roles inRWBY andMao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart onCartoon Network.
Clinkenbeard and voice actressLaura Bailey were roommates while working atFunimation.[10] She married Patric Carroll in 2012, and they have a son named Rhodes, born in 2014.[11] Her sister Bonnie is an ADR script writer at Funimation.[12]

Colleen Clinkenbeard's Luffy is more a generic spunky kid than a personality in his own right, really coming to life only during the action scenes during which she does a fine job of being darned cool.
