Colin Gander (born January 12, 2000) is a Canadiansoccer player who plays as adefender forCambridge United inLeague2 Ontario.

Early life

In his youth, Gander played youth soccer with Kitchener SC,[1] later joining theToronto FC Academy.[2]

College/University career

In 2019, Gander began attendingMissouri State University, where he joined themen's soccer team,[2] although heredshirted the 2019-20Missouri Valley Conference season.[citation needed]

In 2020, Gander transferred to theUniversity of Guelph joining themen's soccer team. However, his inaugural season was delayed until the 2021-22 school year, as the season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[3] He scored his first goal on October 22, against theBrock Badgers.[4] In the 2021–22 season, he won theOUA title.[2]

In 2023, Gander began his MBA at theToronto Metropolitan University joining themen's soccer team.[5]

Club career

In 2017 and 2018, he played withToronto FC III inLeague1 Ontario.[6][7]

In 2020, he trained withToronto Skillz FC.[8]

In 2021, he played withGuelph United F.C.[9]

At the2022 CPL-U Sports Draft, Gander was selected in the second round (eleventh overall) by theHFX Wanderers.[10] In April 2022, he signed a developmental contract with the Wanderers, which allows him to maintain his university eligibility.[11] He made his debut on April 16, coming on as a substitute againstAtlético Ottawa.[12] In mid-August, as part of his developmental contract, he departed the team to return to play for his university.[13]

In 2023, he returned toGuelph United FC.[14] He then re-signed with the team for the 2024 season.[15]
