TheCoastline rugby league team areNew Zealandrugby league team that represents theCoastline Rugby League. They have been nicknamed theMariners.
The first time Coastline competed as an independent district was in1995, previously they had been represented by theBay of Plenty side. They recorded their first ever win when they defeatedGisborne-East Coast 41–32 in their debut season.[1]
In 2000 Coastline won theRugby League Cup.[2] They lost the Cup toTasman in early 2001.[3]
Between 2004 and 2007 they were represented by theWaicoa Bay Stallions in theBartercard Cup.
In 2001 the Mariners were coached by former KiwiTony Gordon and included Tongan internationalAndrew Leota.[2]
