Clube Esportivo Bento Gonçalves, commonly referred to asEsportivo, is aBrazilian football club based inBento Gonçalves,Rio Grande do Sul. It currently plays inCampeonato Gaúcho Série A, the first level of theRio Grande do Sul state football league.
On August 28, 1919, Clube Esportivo Bento Gonçalves was founded by Leonardo Carlucci and other sportsmen.[1]
In 1969, the club won theCampeonato Gaúcho Second Level, beating byW.O.Avenida.[2]
In 1979, Esportivo finished asCampeonato Gaúcho runner-up, ahead ofInternacional.[3]
In 1989, the club competed in theBrazilian Championship Second Level, but was eliminated in the first stage of the competition.[4]
In 1999, the Esportivo de Bento Gonçalves won again the Campeonato Gaúcho Second Level, finishing ahead of15 de Novembro,Glória andRio Grande in the final stage, which was a group stage competed by four clubs.[5]
In 2004, Esportivo won theCopa FGF, beatingGaúcho de Passo Fundo in the final round.[6]
They won the Campeonato Gaúcho Second Level again in 2012.[7]
