Clinomachus (Greek:Κλεινόμαχος; 4th-century BC), was aMegarian philosopher fromThurii,Magna Graecia. He is said byDiogenes Laërtius to have been the first who composed treatises on the fundamental principles ofdialectics,[1] and is described as the founder of the Dialectical school.[2] According to theSuda, he was the disciple ofEuclid of Megara,[3] and he taughtBryson, the teacher ofPyrrho.[4] He thus lived towards the earlier half of the 4th century BC.
