Clément Turpin (French pronunciation:[klemɑ̃tyʁpɛ̃]; born 16 May 1982)[1] is a Frenchfootballreferee. He has been aFIFA listed referee since 2010, and anUEFA Elite group referee since 2012.

Career

Turpin became aFIFA referee in 2010.[2] He has served as a referee in the2014[3] and2018 World Cup qualifiers.[4]

He became a referee in UEFA club competitions from the2010–11 UEFA Europa League.

In May 2016, Turpin was named the best French referee by theFrench Football Federation. The same year he officiated at theUEFA Euro 2016 in France[5] and was one of the fiveUEFA referees for theMen's Olympic Games football tournament in Brazil.[6]

The following year Turpin refereed in the2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.

On 29 March 2018, FIFA announced that Turpin would officiate at the2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, with Cyril Gringore and Nicolas Danos as assistant referees.[7]

On 4 July 2020, he officiated theOldest capital derby ofBulgaria betweenLevski Sofia andSlavia Sofia.[8]

On 26 May 2021, he refereed the2021 UEFA Europa League Final betweenVillarreal andManchester United.[9]

Turpin was selected by UEFA to officiate the2022 UEFA Champions League Final betweenLiverpool andReal Madrid.[10]

In April 2024, Turpin was selected to officiate atUEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.[11] The following year, Turpin was selected to officiate at2025 FIFA Club World Cup inUnited States.[12]
