TheCiney is aBelgian beer native to town ofCiney.

In 2000, theAlken-Maes brewery bought the trademark rights to Ciney. A few months later, the brewery was acquired by the English groupScottish & Newcastle.[1] From 2000 until 2007, Ciney was brewed in an Alken-Maes brewery inJumet, (the Jumet brewery also producedGrimbergen, Hapkin, Judas, Scotch Watneys, and Red Barrel beers).[2][3] After that, Ciney has been brewed at the Alken-Maes brewery inAlken.
