Cimolopterygidae is an extinct family ofornithurandinosaurs known from theLate Cretaceous epoch.[2] Remains attributed to cimolopterygids have been found in theFrenchman Formation ofSaskatchewan, theLance Formation ofWyoming, theFox Hills Formation ofColorado, theHell Creek Formation ofMontana, and theAllen Formation ofRio Negro,Argentina. Most date to the end of theMaastrichtian age, about 66 million years ago, though a much earlier species has also been identified from theCampanian-agedDinosaur Park Formation ofAlberta, about 75 million years ago.[1][3]
