Serbian mythical creature

Cikavac (Serbian pronunciation:[tsikaʋats]) is amythical creature inSerbian mythology, imagined as awinged animal (abird) with longbeak and apelican-likesack.[1]

A cikavac could be acquired by taking anegg from a blackhen, which would then be carried by awoman under herarmpit for 40 days, during which time one would notconfess, cutnails, wash face orpray.[1] The cikavac would then suckhoney from others'beehives andmilk of others'cattle, and bring it to the owner; it would fulfill any owner's wish, and also enable its owner to understand theanimal language.[1]
