Church Boys United (formerly known asChurch Boys FC)[2] is aNepali professionalfootball club from Balkumri, neighborhood ofLalitpur, that competes in theMartyr's Memorial A-Division League.[3] The club was first promoted toMartyr's Memorial A-Division League in 2022, having won the2022 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League.[4]
The club was founded in 2009, but only participated in local tournaments. In 2019, they qualified for theMartyr's Memorial C-Division League, which was their fifth attempt in C-Division League Qualifier (previously known as Martyr's Memorial 'D' Division League)[citation needed] and were promoted to the top-levelMartyr's Memorial A-Division League within two seasons, in whatThe Kathmandu Post highlighted as "a remarkable journey".[4]
In 2023, the club clinchedSimara Gold Cup title, defeatingHimalayan Sherpa Club in the final.[5][6]
The club was featured in the40th edition of theSikkim Gold Cup in November 2024.[7][8][9]
The season-by-season performance of Church Boys United. Until 2019, the team only participated in local tournaments, while attempting to qualify for the third-tierMartyr's Memorial C-Division League. The earliest qualification was in 2012.[10]
