TheChukchi Peninsula (alsoChukotka Peninsula orChukotski Peninsula;Russian:Чуко́тский полуо́стров,Chukotskiy poluostrov, short formRussian:Чуко́тка,Chukotka), at about 66° N 172° W, is the easternmost peninsula ofAsia.
In the Bering Strait about halfway between the peninsula and the Seward Peninsula are the fairly smallDiomede Islands; the western one isBig Diomede, Russia and the eastern one isLittle Diomede Island, Alaska. The much largerSt. Lawrence Island, Alaska, is about 50 km (31 mi) southeast of the peninsula's southernmost point.
