Chrysopsis godfreyi, orGodfrey's goldenaster,[1] is aNorth American species of flowering plant in the familyAsteraceae. It is native to the states ofFlorida andAlabama in thesoutheastern United States.[2]
Chrysopsis godfreyi is an herb up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall, with a largetaproot and most of its leaves in arosette close to the ground. It produces numerous yellowflower heads in large arrays, each head having bothray florets anddisc florets. The species grows on sand dunes and other sandy areas along theGulf Coast in southernAlabama and in theFlorida Panhandle.[3][4]
