Chrysomma is asongbirdgenus. It is quite closely related to theparrotbills, and is therefore a member of the familyParadoxornithidae.
The genusChrysomma was introduced in 1843 by the English zoologistEdward Blyth. He designated thetype species asTimalia hypoleucaFranklin 1831.[1] This taxon is now one ofsubspecies of theyellow-eyed babbler.[2][3][4] The genus name combines theAncient Greekkhrusos meaning "gold" andomma meaning "eye".[5]
