Chrysolepis is agenus ofprehistoric marinelobe-finned fish that lived during theLate Devonian period.[1] It contains a single species,C. orlensis, known from the middleFamennian ofOryol Oblast, Russia.[2] It is the only member of the familyChrysolepididae, erected due to its highly distinct morphology unseen among otherosteolepiforms. It may be the sister taxon to theeusthenopterids.[3]
