Christine Teunissen (born 6 September 1985) is a Dutch politician of theParty for the Animals. Since 24 March 2014 she has been a member of themunicipal council ofThe Hague, and since 9 June 2015 she has also been a member of theSenate.[1] She was the youngest one of that Senate session.In the senate elections of May 2019[2] she was reelected as a senate member.

From October 2018 to January 2019 she temporarily left the Senate to replaceMarianne Thieme in theTweede Kamer (House of Representatives).[3] In November 2020 the party published the list of candidates for theelections in March 2021. On this list Christine Teunissen appeared as the number two, immediately after the party leaderEsther Ouwehand,[4] and she was elected to the House of Representatives. Following herNovember 2023 re-election, she served as her party's spokesperson for economic affairs, finances, justice, foreign affairs, defense, and digital affairs.[5] In January 2024, amotion by Teunissen was carried to block usage ofLelystad Airport forcommercial aviation. It had been expanded to alleviateAmsterdam Airport Schiphol.[6]

Teunissen studied history atLeiden University. From 2012 to 2014, she waspress secretary to the Party for the Animals group in the House of Representatives.
