Christian Marie Serratos[2] (/səˈrɑːts/sə-RAH-tohss;néeBernardi; born September 21, 1990) is an American actress, who is best known for portrayingRosita Espinosa in AMC'sThe Walking Dead TV series, based on thecomic book of the same name. She is also known for playingSuzie Crabgrass in theNickelodeon seriesNed's Declassified School Survival Guide andAngela Weber inThe Twilight Saga. From 2020 to 2021, she portrayed the "Queen of Tejano" singerSelena inNetflix'sSelena: The Series.[3]

Early life

Serratos was born inPasadena, California,[4] and raised inBurbank, California.[2][5] Alicia Serratos, her mother, isMexican, while her father isItalian.[6] She worked as an extra onThe Drew Carey Show andCoach.[5]

She beganfigure skating at age three and continued competitively, saying, "My coaches were talking about the Olympics and it was really crazy. Now, I just do it for fun."[7] At the age of seven, she signed with theFord Modeling Agency.[5]

Serratos playedSuzie Crabgrass in theNickelodeon seriesNed's Declassified School Survival Guide, which debuted in 2004 and ended in 2007 after three seasons.[8]

Serratos's role as Angela Weber inTwilight won her the "Young Supporting Actress" award in the Best Performance in a Feature Film category at the30th Young Artist Awards. Serratos reprised the role in the sequelsThe Twilight Saga: New Moon andThe Twilight Saga: Eclipse.[9] In 2011, she appeared inThe Black Keys' video for their song "Howlin' for You".[10]

Serratos playedRosita Espinosa inAMC's seriesThe Walking Dead, initially as a recurring character in the fourth season where she made her first appearance at the end of the tenth episode "Inmates". Her character was promoted to series regular in the fifth season, and was added to the series' main credits in the seventh season.[11][12] On September 22, 2022, it was reported that Christian Serratos has been cast in the lead role of theHBO Max dramaMore playing Londyn Lorenz.[13]

She ranked at No. 65 onMaxim's "Hot 100" list for 2010.[14] In the March 2015 issue ofPlayboy magazine, Serratos was featured in the "Becoming Attractions" section.[citation needed]

Personal life

Serratos is ananimal rights activist and has posed for a number ofPETA campaigns promoting avegan lifestyle. She is a vegan.[15][16][17]

Christian has been in a relationship withDavid Boyd, a singer-songwriter, since 2014. They have one daughter (b. 2017).[18]
