Chris Ealham

Chris Ealham (born 1965) is anEnglishhistorian andHispanist. He specialises in the history ofanarchism in Spain. His work has been translated intoCastilian,Catalan andItalian.^[1] He writes for the Spanishdaily andanarchistpress on topics which range fromsoccer tourban planning.^[1]

Ealham was born inKent,England, in 1965.^[2][3] He obtained hisPhD in 1995 from theQueen Mary and Westfield College, University of London with his dissertationPolicing the Recession: Unemployment, Social Protest and Law-and-Order in Republican Barcelona, 1930-1936, which was supervised byPaul Preston, the English historian and Hispanist.^[4][5]

Ealham initially worked as a lecturer atCardiff University,Wales andLancaster University, England. He currently works as a lecturer in theMadrid Campus of theSaint Louis University inSpain.^[6] He participates in the often acrimonioushistoriography of theSpanish Civil War, arguing thatpopulisthistorians have promotedpro-Francorevisionism in the discipline.^[7]
