Choline theophyllinate (INN), also known asoxtriphylline, is acough medicine derived fromxanthine that acts as abronchodilator to open up airways in the lung. Chemically, it is a salt ofcholine andtheophylline. It classifies as anexpectorant.[citation needed] The drug is available under the brand namesCholedyl andCholedyl SA, among others.[1]
