TheChoapa Metamorphic Complex orChMC is a large coherent but varied group ofmetamorphic rocks—in other words, ageologic complex—thatcrops out in theChilean Coast Range innorthern Chile. The rocks of the formation have been metamorphosed undergreenschist faciesmetamorphism. After the main phase of metamorphism the rocks of the complex were heated byplutons in theJurassic. It has been suggested that theprotoliths of the formation were similar and equivalent to thePaleozoic-agedPuerto Manso Formation.[1]

The complex is named afterChoapa River.
