Chlorochrysa is agenus of small colourfulNeotropical birds in the tanager familyThraupidae.
The genusChlorochrysa was introduced in 1851 by the French naturalistCharles Lucien Bonaparte.[1] In a subsequent publication he designated thetype species as theorange-eared tanager.[2][3] The name combines theAncient Greekkhlōros meaning "green" andkhrusos meaning "gold".[4] The genus contains three species.[5]
