Chlorcyclizine (Di-Paralene,Mantadil,Pruresidine,Trihistan) is afirst-generation antihistamine of thediphenylmethylpiperazine group marketed in theUnited States and certain other countries.[1][2][3] It is used primarily to treatallergysymptoms such asrhinitis, urticaria, andpruritus, and may also be used as anantiemetic.[1][2][3] In addition to itsantihistamine effects, chlorcyclizine has someanticholinergic, antiserotonergic, andlocal anesthetic properties.[4][5] It has been studied as a potential treatment for variousflaviviruses likehepatitis C andZika virus.[6][7][8]
