TheChild Protection Party (CPP) is a minorAustralian political party based and registered inSouth Australia.[1] Its platform is based aroundchild protection.[2]
The party unsuccessfully ran 2 upper house candidates at the2018 state election with around 1.5% of the statewide vote.[3]
At the2019 federal election, the party unsuccessfully contested one electorate.[4] It was deregistered by theAEC on 30 June 2021.[5] Since child protection is a state and not a federal responsibility, the Party did not challenge deregistration.
At the2022 Victorian state election, the party endorsedindependent candidate Eric Koelmeyer in the seat ofBundoora, as it is not registered with theVictorian Electoral Commission. Koelmeyer was unsuccessful.[6]
