Thechestnut bulbul orchestnut-backed bulbul (Hemixos castanonotus) is asongbird in thebulbul family, Pycnonotidae. The species wasfirst described byRobert Swinhoe in 1870. It is found in southern China and northern Vietnam. Its naturalhabitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowlandforests; it primarily resides in the canopy.[2]
It is an omnivore.[2]
Formerly, some authorities classified the chestnut bulbul in the genusHypsipetes and also as a subspecies of theashy bulbul.
