Charmaine Chew (born 1996) is aMalaysian beauty pageant titleholder, social media influencer,model andemcee who was crowned Miss International Malaysia 2019.[2][3]
Chew hails fromAlor Setar, the state capital ofKedah.[3] She is pursuing a degree inpublic relations andmass communication atTaylor's University Lakeside Campus.[4] She is a gamer and avidMuay Thai fan.[4]
In 2018, she was invited to speak atTEDxYouth at Sri KDU International School inPetaling Jaya,Selangor.[4] In November 2019, she is selected to be the International Grand Symposium Speaker at theInternational Model United Nations Malaysia 2019 inTaylor's University,Subang Jaya,Selangor.[5]
Chew competed in her firstbeauty pageant,Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 when she was twenty-one years old.[2] She was the top 10 finalist of Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 and awarded the subsidiary title Miss Miko Galere.[6]
In October 2019, Chew was appointed as Miss International Malaysia 2019 by the official licensee, Miss International Malaysia. She was selected from a list of suggestions by local pageant fans.[2]
As Miss International Malaysia 2019, Chew represented Malaysia at theMiss International 2019 competition inTokyo,Japan on 12 November 2019, whereSireethorn Leearamwat ofThailand emerged as the eventual winner.[7]
