Charlotte Jordan Evans (born 1 June 1994)[1] is a British actress, known for her roles as Gaby Grant in theNetflix seriesFree Rein andDaisy Midgeley in theITV soap operaCoronation Street. The latter earned her aBritish Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance.

Early life

Charlotte Jordan Evans was born on 1 June 1994 inChobham. She attended Oakfield School, a private school inPyrford, as well as the Susan Robinson School of Ballet inByfleet. While attending school, she competed in ballet, singing and acting competitions, such as the Fonteyn Nureyev Young Dancer competition,[2] where she placed second in level 2,[3] and achieved a distinction in all of her examinations.[4]

Career

Jordan made her professional acting debut in an episode ofThe Bill broadcast in 2007, under the name of Charlie Evans.[5] While under that name, she also portrayed the role of Serena in theNickelodeon seriesSummer in Transylvania from 2011 to 2012.[6] She was then selected to join a pop group formed byGeri Halliwell in 2012.[7] In 2016, she began acting under the name Charlotte Jordan, and made her debut film appearance inAngel of Decay, as well as making an appearance in theBBC medical dramaCasualty.[8] In 2018, Jordan was cast in theNetflix drama seriesFree Rein as Gaby Grant; she portrayed the role for two series and also starred inFree Rein Christmas and Valentine-themed films.[9]

In 2019, Jordan co-wrote and produced a short film titledTracks.[8] A year later, she joined theITVsoap operaCoronation Street asDaisy Midgeley.[10] She remained in the role for five years, during which she won aBritish Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance and aRTS North West Award for Best Performance in a Continuing Drama.[11] In 2024, Jordan made the decision to leaveCoronation Street after her contract had expired, with her final scenes set to air in 2025.[12]
