Charlotte Hym (born 30 October 1992) is a Frenchstreet skateboarder and neuroscientist based inParis.
Hym was born inParis and grew up close toBoulevard Richard-Lenoir. She asked for a skateboard at the age of twelve because she saw so many people skateboarding in her local area.[2]
Hym obtained abachelor's degree inSport sciences at theParis Descartes University in 2013, and completed amaster's degree inNeuroscience from the same university in 2015.[2] She remained in neuroscience as a doctoral researcher, focusing on cognitive neuroscience at psychology in the laboratory ofMarianne Barbu-Roth.[3][4] She looked at the impact of maternal voices on newborn babies.[5]In 2019, she received aPhD degree inCognitive neuroscience andPsychology from the Paris Descartes University.[2]
Hym has competed at theWorld Skateboarding Championships. In 2016 she was approached by Commission Skateboard France to join the France skateboarding teams. She trained in Cosanostra Skatepark.[6] In July 2021 she represented France in theWomen's Street Skateboarding event at the2020 Summer Olympics, finishing in 17th place.[7]
