Charlie Wachtel is an American director,producer andscreenwriter. He is best known for co-writing the 2018 American filmBlacKkKlansman bySpike Lee alongside David Rabinowitz,Kevin Willmott, and Lee.^[1] The film was nominated for sixAcademy Awards, winning in theBest Adapted Screenplay category.^[2][3]

Wachtel and Rabinowitz also worked on a script forThacher Island, based onCasey Sherman’sAnimal,^[4] andMadness, a series about college basketball.^[1]
